The strong leadership of Josh Crow and the wiliness to apply the fundamentals of chess tactics and strategy to a Division III team (Blue) translated in a team capable to operate as a single unit and beat stronger, taller and more skilled opponents at national level. The blue team mastered during the pre season a set of volleyball skills that when executed on the court , severely restricted opponent’s play. Importantly, when this skill set was applied to a game it helped the team to hang on, regardless of opponent’s strength.
